Requirements
- The proposed idea or project must relate to abortion experience, understanding, support, care or meaning-making.
- Applicants may apply as individuals or through organisations, collectives or fiscally sponsored projects.
- Applicants may be based anywhere in the world.
- Applicants do not need to work within a traditional healthcare system.
- Applicants must select either the US$5,000 Emerging Visionary Award or the US$10,000 Peg Johnston Innovation Award.
- The application must clearly describe the proposed project, who it serves and how it will change how people experience, understand or make meaning from abortion.
- Applicants must identify an aspect of abortion that they believe is currently overlooked or insufficiently explored.
- Applicants must explain what is innovative about the proposed work.
- Applicants must describe the longer-term change or understanding they hope the project will create.
- A brief project budget must be submitted.
- The budget should show the budget category, description, amount requested and total project budget where applicable.

Global Grants Hub strategic note
An unusually accessible global funding opportunity because applicants do not need to be formally registered NGOs and may apply as individuals, collectives, researchers, artists, doulas or grassroots innovators. African applicants are eligible. Strong proposals should go beyond conventional service delivery and demonstrate a genuinely creative approach to abortion experience, emotional support, storytelling, accompaniment, stigma reduction or meaning-making. Applicants should clearly distinguish whether their idea is an early-stage concept suited to the US$5,000 Emerging Visionary Award or an established initiative suited to the US$10,000 Innovation Award.
