MTN Uganda Foundation Changemakers Phase 4

MTN Uganda Foundation

MTN Uganda Foundation has opened Phase 4 of its Changemakers Programme, committing UGX 500 million to support 25 community projects across Uganda. Individuals and organisations can propose practical community initiatives in areas including economic empowerment, education, health, agriculture, water and sanitation, and environmental sustainability. Each selected project can receive in-kind support valued at up to UGX 20 million.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Applicants must be Ugandan and the proposed project must benefit a community in Uganda.
  • Applicants with criminal records are not eligible.
  • The project must fall within an MTN Uganda Foundation focus area.
  • The project should address a real community or societal need.
  • The project should create positive and direct benefits for community members.
  • The project should demonstrate sustainability or lasting impact.
  • Relevant community stakeholders should be consulted and involved.
  • Local leadership should be meaningfully involved in the initiative.
  • The project must comply with the laws and regulations of Uganda.
  • The total project implementation value must not exceed UGX 20,000,000.
  • The project must be capable of implementation within three months.
  • Multiple submissions of the same project will be disqualified.
  • Support is provided in kind; MTN Foundation will not provide cash donations.
  • Projects impacting youth, women and persons with disabilities receive an added advantage during consideration.

Application steps

  • Review the MTN Uganda Foundation Changemakers Programme Terms and Conditions.
  • Identify a community project within one of the programme’s eligible focus areas.
  • Define the community need, project objectives, beneficiaries and expected impact.
  • Prepare a realistic project budget not exceeding UGX 20 million.
  • Ensure the proposed project can be implemented within three months.
  • Explain how the project will remain sustainable after MTN Foundation support ends.
  • Provide supporting evidence or documents about the project where available.
  • Complete the online application through the MTN Uganda Changemakers page; alternatively, download and complete the official application form.
  • Applications may also be submitted through an MTN Service Centre or through the submission channels indicated by MTN Foundation.
  • Submit the complete application by 30 September 2026.

A particularly accessible Uganda-specific opportunity because both individuals and organisations can apply. The support is not a cash grant: MTN Foundation provides approved in-kind resources worth up to UGX 20 million per selected project. Applicants should therefore frame their request around practical items, equipment, materials or interventions MTN can directly support. Projects must be realistic enough to complete within three months and should demonstrate strong community ownership, sustainability and measurable benefit. Initiatives benefiting youth, women and persons with disabilities have an added advantage.
