Global Grants Hub strategic note

This opportunity is best suited to organisations that can build a genuine working partnership between journalism and civil society rather than treating the media partner merely as a communications contractor. Competitive proposals should identify a clear public-interest issue affecting marginalised or underserved communities, combine credible evidence gathering with strong journalistic production, and show how the resulting content will reach and engage relevant audiences. Human rights, freedom of expression, access to public services, accountability and community access to trustworthy information are particularly well aligned with the call. Applicants should also pay close attention to the country-specific deadlines because the current CFI page keeps different submission windows open for Uganda, Kazakhstan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
