This is a substantial but highly specialised funding opportunity and organisations should check the community-leadership criteria carefully before applying. Being an HIV organisation, LGBTQI organisation or organisation serving key populations is not sufficient on its own: applicants must be genuinely led by MSM and/or trans community members and demonstrate a substantial track record in relevant HIV healthcare, advocacy or health-system engagement. Strong proposals should connect immediate community-led service delivery with evidence-based advocacy and a credible pathway toward more sustainable, inclusive healthcare access while showing that the proposed work builds on the organisation’s existing strategy and does not duplicate major donor-funded services.
